Overview

MuscleFLo is a fitness coaching platform connecting personal trainers with their clients. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

We collect only what is necessary to operate the app and never sell your personal information to third parties.

Information we collect

When you use MuscleFLo, we may collect the following:

• Account information — your name and email address provided via Google or Apple Sign-In.
• Profile data — height, weight, age, fitness goals, and gender you choose to provide.
• Progress photos — photos you upload to track your physical progress. These are visible only to you and your assigned trainer.
• Workout and nutrition data — workout logs, sets, reps, weights, check-ins, and meal plan progress you record in the app.
• Messages — direct messages exchanged between trainers and their clients. Messages are private between the two parties and stored securely on our servers.
• Community feed content — workout posts and content you choose to share to the community feed. This content is visible to other users within your trainer's community group.
• Device information — device push notification token for delivering workout reminders and trainer notifications.
• Usage data — basic app activity to help us improve the product.
• Phone number — optionally collected during account setup for trainer-client communication.
• Purchase information — subscription status and entitlements managed via RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details; these are handled by Apple.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate the MuscleFLo service.
• To allow your trainer to view your progress, assign workouts and meal plans, and communicate with you via direct messaging.
• To display your workout activity on the community feed when you choose to share it.
• To send push notifications about workouts, messages, check-ins, and trainer updates.
• To process and manage your subscription via RevenueCat and Apple in-app purchases.
• To improve app performance and fix bugs.

Third-party services

MuscleFLo uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
• Google Sign-In — optional sign-in method.
• Apple Sign-In — optional sign-in method.
• Expo Push Notifications — delivery of push notifications.
• RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat processes subscription status and entitlements but does not store payment card information.
• ExerciseDB — third-party exercise database providing exercise GIFs and instructions displayed in the app.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Your data is shared only in these limited circumstances:

• With your assigned trainer, who can view your workout history, check-ins, progress photos, meal plan logs, and direct messages.
• With other users in your trainer's community group, but only for content you explicitly choose to post to the community feed.
• With service providers (listed above) required to operate the app.
• If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and data.
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via your device settings.

Children's privacy

MuscleFLo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the app or email. Your continued use of MuscleFLo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
